Abstract

Narsampet Mandal is located in Eastern region to Warangal district, where the study has been taken. The major crops in this area are Cotton, Capsicum, Turmeric, Paddy and Maize. For increasing the crop yield and gain of commercial benefit these area farmers widely used different types of pesticides. Among the so many pesticides chloropyrifos, Imidaclopridare prominent in Cotton and Capsicum crop fields. The total of 18 different soil microarthropod species was observed from three different classes during the period of 2018-19. They belong to Arachnida, Myriapoda and Insecta. The farmers of this area usually apply the pesticides in the months of September, October and November in their fields. It is observed that in the pesticides applied months, the soil microarthropod population is drastically decreased in number as compared to other months when the pesticides were not sprayed. The highest number of populations was observed in the months of June, July and August, because of the selected crop fields are less affected with pest attacks so that the less amount of pesticides were discharged to soil and also the monsoon season starts.
