Abstract

Microspore derived plant population was raised using anthers from F1 hybrid plants obtained by a reciprocal cross between two cultivars of Brassica juncea (cv. RM-198 and cv. RJ-15). The F2 population segregation ratio and frequency distribution of the hybrids were compared with the progenies of the microspore derived plant population (A2). It was observed that though F2 population showed simple ratio, non-Mendelian segregation was observed in A2 plants. Quantitative characters showed shift in mean and altered dispersion in A2 progenies in comparison to sexual hybrids.
