Abstract

This study sought to verify the role of antioxidants over the intensity of fluorescence in the dental tissue of rats induced by tetracycline. Wistar rats were divided into 4 experimental groups and tooth slides were microscopically observed by fluorescence. Results demonstrated intense fluorescence in the dentine matrix of the slides of the rats which had received tetracycline and slight fluorescence in those which had received tetracycline and vitamin, suggesting partial reverse of oxidative stress. No alterations of fluorescence were observed in the enamel matrix.
